About OxDX

OxDX is a University of Oxford spin out company that uses high-resolution microscopy in combination with machine learning to identify pathogens in just a few seconds. Think of Covid testing done on a microscope rather than using today’s tests. The technology has been developed at the Department of Physics, and the company has recently secured significant funding to scale it up and bring it to the market.

Overview of the role

As one of the first hires, you will have the opportunity to shape OxDX’s first product and contribute to the strategic direction of the company overall. You will liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders to devise the requirements of the product and to turn higher-level requirements into product requirements. This will include working closely with customers to ensure product-market fit, and with the CEO to shape and refine the business direction. Together with the software and wet lab teams you will build the delivery roadmap which you will then own.

Necessary skills/experience

  • At least one year of product management experience in either life science/diagnostics or software development (ideally both)
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • This role would suit someone with a lab-based position in the life science or diagnostics industry who would like to transition into a commercial role, or someone who made a similar move within the last 1-2 years

Able to distil high-level needs into clearly actionable items.
