Event Details

This edition of our ever-popular BioTuesday event will spotlight the 'Digital Transformation in Medtech', and is kindly hosted by EY at their 'More London' offices in London Bridge on 22 October.


The evening will feature two keynotes from EY subject matter experts, followed by four x 10-minute presentations from Digital Medtech focused R&D companies. Details as follows:


Keynote one, presented by Mark Taylor, Partner – Life Sciences'Emerging Go To Market Models With The Rise of Digital

This presentation will address:

  • Opportunities created by digital to market, sell and service med tech customers
  • Navigating the use of digital to maximise ROI
  • Example case studies looking at med devices into hospital and community market sectors


Keynote two, presented by Sesh Thirumalai, Director, EY-Parthenon, 'Digital transformation and data-driven decision making'

This presentation will address:

  • Case studies of med tech companies with positive outcome
  • Key pitfalls to avoid
  • Roadmap for Digital transformation

    Professor M Francesca Cordeiro, is a clinician-scientist, Chair of Ophthalmology Imperial College London, and UCL Professor, Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist/Research Lead, Director of the ICORG Clinical Trials Unit at the Western Eye Hospital London, and recently Founder and Director of Novai Ltd, a start-up company based on DARC Technology.

    Her research, funded continuously by the Wellcome Trust since 1996, focuses on novel and translational approaches with a target of saving sight and reducing disability, with over 180 peer-reviewed publications.

    She has received a number of international awards for this work, including the Lewis Rudin Glaucoma Prize 2005, the Research to Prevent Blindness International Research Scholar Award 2015, the GG2 Diversity Award for Outstanding Achievement in Medicine 2017 and 2019 Duke Elder Award (Royal College of Ophthalmologists) and is frequently asked to give keynote lectures abroad.
