The OBN Awards, now in their 13th year are a highly regarded and coveted UK awards for the Life Sciences industry, that aims to celebrate individuals and companies that have made an outstanding impact in their field. The Awards shine a light on companies at all stages of development, recognising inspirational leadership, exciting innovation, novel and exciting approaches to unmet clinical need, outstanding company progression and the delivery of real-life tangible results.


The twelve categories awarded on the night encompass the biotech, medtech and digital health sectors, as well as recognising dealmakers and those who provide critical support to innovators across the industry.


We have recently announced the companies that have been shortlisted to the final round of the OBN Awards.

The postponed 2020 OBN Awards were delivered in London in June 2021, so the 2021 Awards will be moved to Oxford and will be hosted in the Roman Sculpture Gallery of the Ashmolean Museum on Thursday 25th November. 


Please note that the venue has a limited capacity, and recommend early booking to avoid disappointment. 

Evening Format:

The OBN Awards start at 7pm with a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal, interspersed with the presentation of awards in 12 categories. The evening will feature a professional event host, as well as a an inspirational industry keynote. 

The Awards finish at approx. 10.30pm, with networking drinks available until 23.00

About the OBN Awards Host


Declan Curry, journalist, has been writing and speaking about business and the economy for over 20 years.


He was most recently the presenter on 'On the Money' - a weekly business and workplace programme on BBC 5 Live and occasionally the presenter on 5 Live's afternoon news programme 'Drive' where he's was also business presenter.  He presented the business debate programme 'Show Me The Money' on the BBC News Channel. 


Prior to this he presented the BBC's "Working Lunch" business programme, which he co-presented with Naga Munchetty. He also presented business news "Breakfast" on BBC One and BBC News 24 reporting each morning from the studios of the London Stock Exchange, covering business, the economy, the workplace and personal finance. He interviewed chief executives, trade union leaders, stock market watchers and economists, along with individual workers and investors. He also broadcast his own personalised reports on the stock market and investing.
