Join us for this, our second in the series of lunchtime digital sessions, with OBN's HR Special Interest Group (HRSIG). The session will be hosted by Angela Hobbs, Chair of OBN's HRSIG, and she will be leading a round-table discussion on:


'Assessing & Measuring the Value of your EDI Strategy'


The group aim to shine a light and stimulate discussion and action on a range of topics such as gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity within organisations in the life sciences industry. This session will focus on the importance of your EDI Strategy and how you can measure the value this brings to your business. Key themes to be discussed include:

  • Impacts on talent acquisition and retention targets
  • Addressing diversity and inclusion throughout the entire organisation, not just for the Board
  • Importance of taking the wider view of diversity and inclusion and address the ethnicity balance
  • How to measure the value to your business

    Angela Hobbs joined the OBN Board in March 2020. Angela is CEO of Wilkinson Hall Ltd, a business consultancy working with entrepreneurs in their transition from start-up to scale-up. She is a member of the Design Council’s investment panel for Tech Spark and a mentor for Aspire for Equality Foundation. She founded her first company in the 1990’s working with media owners, advertising agencies and global brands. After a period of consulting with product design consultants Triteq, she became MD in 2017 working with MedTech clients and funding organisations developing safety critical medical devices and digital health solutions. In 2010 she completed her MSc in Sustainable Business at University of Bath.

    Laura joined Advent in 2019 bringing business intelligence, business development and executive leadership experience.

    Prior to joining Advent, Laura held CEO and COO positions at a number of life science and biotech start-ups. This included leading the Series A fundraising and being a founding member of management of VirionHealth. Prior to that, Laura worked at Warwick Ventures focusing on business development and technology commercialisation, and Black Swan Analysis, a boutique consultancy advising pharma and biotech companies on asset valuation and product forecasting.

    Laura gained her MSci in Chemistry and PhD in Structural Biology from the University of Cambridge.
