OBN BioTuesday: Life Sciences Spotlight - AI and Data Innovation in the East of England


This in-person BioTuesday event will recognise some of the most interesting and progressive AI & Data focused R&D innovators, hailing from the East of England Region.


Companies showcasing at the event are using AI and machine learning to both diagnose and treat the causes of cancer and other diseases, as well as using data anaylsis to optimise the drug discovery process.


The evening will commence with a scene setting update from Dr Namshik Han, Head of Computational Research & Artificial Intelligence, Milner Therapeutics Institute, who will share their insight on the latest innovation in this space, with a particular focus on the East of England Region, followed by 6 x 10-minute company showcase presentations.


All presenters will join for an audience Q&A at the end of the session before a networking drinks reception, which is kindly provided by event host, the Epicentre.

    Antony started his career developing machine learning-based software using models of the human auditory system to measure phone call quality, winning an international standards competition, gaining his PhD and co-founding his first startup based on the technology. Psytechnics was acquired by Netscout in 2011. After 12 years developing communications systems and medical devices at Cambridge-based technology consultancy TTP, he returned to startups in 2016. Antony has focused on applying his expertise in AI and medical technology to cancer screening since 2018, and in 2019 co-founded Lucida Medical with Prof Evis Sala, Professor of Oncological Imaging at the University of Cambridge.
