We are pleased to announced details of a new OBN BioLearn Power Hour, covering 'HR Legal Essentials' for startups, designed to provide an overview of:
- Your legal responsibilities to your staff, including contracts and health and safety responsibilities
- An understanding of the broad topic of discrimination, harassment and victimisation
- An understanding of family friendly rights and working time regulations
- A brief outline of upcoming employment law changes as a result of the new government
Our host will also provide an introduction to the following important Employment Acts:
• Employment Rights Act 1996 – covering contracts & unfair dismissal
• Equality Act 2010 – covering discrimination, harassment & victimisation
• Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 – covering employer duties & risk assessments
• Working Time Regulations 1998 – covering working hours & annual leave
• Employment Relations Act 1999 – covering union rights & family friendly rights
• Data Protection Act 2018 – covering employee data
• TUPE 2005 – covering business transfers
There will be time for audience questions after the presentations.
